More Pictures

Also on my Nikon were pictures of our trip last summer to the Methow River valley.  We took a drive and I took some interesting pictures, thought I'd bore you one last time and share them as well.

Court House for Okanagan

Fruit trees totally covered by nets - very unusual, not sure why?

Interesting collection of barns with a dried animal hide on the side

High desert, dry and hot

Dry as it is, the country side is beautiful

more out buildings and a garden

Maddie on the deck after we got home - she loves to go, but there's no place like home and her own yard
I took a quilting class with my friend Ginny yesterday and it was so much fun.  There were 4 ladies in the class and a young lady who was 14 and learning to quilt.  It was a lot of fun and as soon as I finish the project I will definitely post a picture of it.  It is a beautiful wall hanging, a bit smaller than a lap size quilt.

That said I will not be at the second class this coming Saturday as CR and I are off to fish the Methow River for a couple of weeks and some much needed time to relax and rest.  So I will go in one afternoon and finish up and visit with Ginny upon our return.  Once we are back I will also have my 3 month bladder check up on the 15th and am praying for a Tumor Free outcome again.  When that happens I'll have 3 more weeks of BCG Chemo.

So much going on in the next couple of months.  Vacation, chemo, a wine tour with Doug and Monica, and then I'll be off to North Carolina to see my Aunties for a couple of weeks.  And I have a quilt I must finish for Tori as she is off to College on the 15th of September.  Oy vey I need a nap just thinking of everything I have going on.

Pictures

When we went to Bainbridge Island I took my big camera - the Nikon.  I've had it on a couple of trips but hadn't downloaded the camera software onto my computer, so I hadn't downloaded any pictures.

When I went to download the Island pictures I discovered a bunch of fantastic pictures from out trip to Cannon Beach Oregon last Thanksgiving.  Pictures of Haystack Rock, the beach, CR and Maddie, the cats, etc.  So I thought I'd share.

So many pictures and since I don't want to totally bore you to death, I'll stop here.

Coach

I love Coach purses and recently I found out that you can get some fabulous deals at the Coach outlet stores.  This my my heart flutter.  So on the way to Bainbridge Island a couple of weeks ago I tried, without success to get CR to stop in North Bend where they have a Coach Outlet Store.

When I went to visit my friend Robyn, she and her daughter Tori took me to the Woodburn Outlet mall, south of Portland, OR - have I mentioned that there is no sales tax in Oregon.  Well anyhow, much to my delight, there was a Coach Outlet store there also - and no sales tax, and great deals.  I got a 400.00 purse, half off and then another 30% off of that and ----- yep, no sales tax.

Okay so CR wasn't exactly thrilled about it, but all is well now.  And I LOVE my new coach purse.  I have one in pink, now I have a black one.  Not sure I'd really care to have any others as they are expensive and I have the 2 colors I've wanted most.  Perhaps in a few years there may be a style that I can't live without, but for now, I'm happy as a clam!

A Fun Weekend for Me!!

I had the most delightful weekend.  I went to visit my friend Robyn and her family who live north of Portland, Oregon.  Robyn and I have known each other before either of us were married, but lost touch when she moved and the internet wasn't available for searching out people.  Thanks to Facebook we've been back in touch and picked up right where we left off.  It's so funny how we still have such similar tastes and likes.  She has two beautiful children whom I just think are the greatest.  Her son Drew is 20 and going to be a paramedic I believe, right now he's working in 911 dispatch.  He's such a sweet man and so interesting to chat with.  Her Daughter Tori - Victoria, is a doll, she is 18 and just graduated from high school.  She is beautiful and intelligent and so much fun to be around.  I wish I had gotten a picture of Tori and Drew and for that matter of Robyn and her wonderful husband Gerald to share with you, but silly me I took a couple of pictures and then just forgot I had my camera.  So I'll share what I did take.

The Family Fur Baby - Missy - she's staring at the deer in the neighbors back yard.

Some of the deer in the neighbors back yard.  There was fawn with them, but I didn't get a good picture of it.
A view from Robyn's front deck - you can see Portland in the distance.  Certainly a view you'd never get tired of.
I left on Friday and returned home on Sunday.  As always not nearly enough time to talk and shop and eat and just enjoy each others company.  We will be doing this again and I promise to get more and better pictures.

My New Bird Bath

We had a lovely weekend visiting family on Bainbridge Island this past weekend.  CR's Brother and his wife live there, it's a 30 minute ferry ride from Seattle if you're not familiar.  It was supposed to be a lovely summer weekend, but you can never really count on the weather, can you.  Saturday it was big thunder for quite a while.  I gather here at home it was HUGE thunder and our poor cats were all alone, I felt so bad when I heard this.  They were fine just so you know.  We had fun on Saturday checking out Poulsbo where there is a wonderful quilt shop and we also went to the farmers market there.  Where Cliff bought me this - it's like one that my Sister-in-law Mon has and I just fell in love with it.

It's made of some type of concrete product and I just love it.  Later that same day we also checked out the little town of Winslow where the ferry docks.  It's a cute little town and has a fun quilt shop and yarn shop.

It was just a wonderful weekend of visiting and catching up and eating and drinking.  I have more pictures to show but first I have to learn how to download them from my big camera.  So it may be a day or two.

Hope you all had a great weekend as well.

Hot Saturday

Yesterday we got up early and met our friend Ken for Breakfast at Sterling's.  Then we were off to Farmers Market for lettuce and some red and golden raspberries and blackberries.  We also made a quick stop and  bought some straw hats, we've both come to the conclusion that we just don't tolerate the heat like we used to and the hats provid some nice shade.  Next, we went to our favorite Latte place and took Madison of course since they give dog treats.  And then it was time to visit our friend Ken at the farm.  He is farming with his friend who owns the land and growing all sorts of things.  I took my camera and snapped some pictures to share.

and some more rusted farm equipment, makes for some interesting pictures.
After we got home from the farm, I went to work making scones.  I made 3 batches of plain scones and 6 batches of blueberry scones - using the blueberries that CR and I have been picking.  We're going to visit CR's brother Doug and his wife Monica next weekend so we'll be taking some to them, then I'll be visiting my friend Robyn and taking some to her and her family.  And then when we go fishing I want to take some to our friend Rod.

Then I ended my day working on my checkbook, no pictures of me pulling out my hair though, haha.

It was a hot day so baking took it all out of me even though we have air conditioning.  Today is free and clear to do nothing but sew - well after I make brunch for us that is.  I'm staying in the cool house and not letting those 90+ degree temps bother me.
